The following is from the FAQ document written by our Chair of Animal Health and Welfare, Jo Weir:
“As part of their commitment to alpaca health and welfare, AABA wants to develop a resource document for all things related to alpacas. It was thought the best way to provide information was to begin a FAQ sheet that over time would become a useful, easy to use information source.
“The idea is to provide a central location for questions and answers related to alpacas. It will be divided into sections for quick and easy navigation, and brings together answers and experiences from many different breeders. The document had to start somewhere, so I have written answers to questions frequently asked on farm visits and message boards as well as including links to current messageboard discussions. I hope that more breeders will add their knowledge, thoughts and experiences to my answers. The more comprehensive the answer, the more assistance it will give an owner and their animals. To add to an answer start a topic with the question you are answering as the subject on the AABA Forum. I will copy the answer provided and paste it into the FAQ document. Alternatively please email me directly with information to include in an answer: AHW@aaba.com.au.
“There is a never ending list of questions to be asked. The more questions asked the more useful the document will become. You can ask a question on the AABA Forum and I will link the question and answers into this document. With the help of all alpaca enthusiasts, this FAQ document will become a comprehensive resource for anyone interested in these remarkable animals. Please help me to make this an informative and useful document: all input is greatly appreciated.”
